What a crazy show.
The end of the beginning is upon us.
I'm really proud of what's gone on during this cycle. Twelve matches, 100% showing, and a collection of some of the best roleplays I've seen since peak SGW. The Gganbu Tag Team Match, especially, is one of the most difficult matches we've ever had to judge. Ailly, Brett, Dave, and Anthony really brought it to an insane level and it's gut wrenching that three of them had to lose. Dustin, Jared, and Matt put in work and elevated the Intercontinental Championship to a status it hasn't touched since the era of Dev, Archie, and Brett. That's only two of the matches on this show and that's not even mentioning the slugfest in the main event. It genuinely feels like everyone who participated in this event actually cared about what they were doing and put real effort into their posts. We really appreciate that on our end because if you care, that means we must be doing something right.
As you all know, this is chapter two in a four part finale that will wrap up the run that began in September of 1999 with Mike Frost, John Baron, and Sam Crust. What you've produced over the past several weeks has reinforced our desire to continue this project into the new era. When we posted SGW KILLS last year, we initially set out to do more shows but when the deadline hit, it just didn't feel right. We weren't feeling it and we knew some of you weren't either so it just worked out to cut it off and call it an epilogue to SGW Forever. Those reservations aren't there this time, thankfully. We have two more shows coming up in this run, one in September and one in October, then we'll kick off with the reboot in November. Some of you are keeping your characters, some of you have made some new choices, and some of you are still on the fence. We want you to know that there's no pressure on what you decide to do.
We're just excited to have you along for the ride.
Please enjoy Game of Squids.
Feedback is appreciated, but not mandatory.
